"A Christmas Carol" was first published in 1843 in London by Chapman & Hall; since then this book has never been out of print. With this famous novella Charles Dickens was the first author to reach a large amount of readers and making them think about an humanitarian vision of the Christmas holidays. This book contains a special appendix from Home life of great authors written by Hattie Griswold in 1891 with some curious notes and descriptions about the private life of Charles Dickens.
